Manipulating data » Creating new region files » Hand | |
By handThe first step in all of these processes is to create a new Region file as follows To refine this region manually it is possible to simply use the drawing tools presented in the map window to specify the shape required. This can be either a predefined shape in the form of a rectangle or circle, or can be done using small or large paint brushes. The example below shows a region defined using the circle xtool. This is now a fully functioning region file and can be used to summarise census or sample data. Information regarding the region file can be entered into the appropriate title and description boxes and the file itself can be saved for the user's future use using the File…..Save / Save As commands from the menu (or the shortcut menu).
