Printing Results

Users are able to print maps directly from CIS. There are print setup options under the Tools…..Options menu. Once the Options menu has been selected, the user can select the Printing tab as presented here to select their printing preferences. These preferences allow the user to specify how they want their legend to appear on the map (options are Always on, Where possible and Never) and whether they want print margins printing.

The user is able to preview their print using the File….Print Preview menu. The example presented illustrates the Ordnance Survey Strategi data (built up towns) with the Legend forced on always.

As the final option the user can select their printer properties using the File…Print Setup… menu. Here the paper size can be selected, orientation and actual printer to be used. Once all settings are complete it the map can be printed from the File…Print… menu.
