| The new version of CIS V.8.0 has been released today (Monday the 12th of September 2005). Version 8.0 includes a number of improvements that have come about through user input. Changes that have been made include alterations to remove confusion relating to the Country Modes. Overlays have been improved to give greater clarity to the user. The Zoom In / Out function within the map window has been improved to allow users to zoom in and out by steps rather than zooming out to the full extent only. As part of this a Pan button has also been added. A map overview window has also been added.Other minor changes have been made including alterations to the significant figures tab in the tables view and a link to the data catalogue from within the software.
